As we head towards the end of the 2019 school year, please make sure that you take the time to read our upcoming events list above as the last few weeks of school are always packed with special occasions and end of year cheer.
I would like to make particular mention of our Volunteer Morning Tea which will be held in the library at 10:45am on Tuesday December 10. Parents who have helped out in classrooms throughout the year will be sent invitations to attend this event. Providing morning tea is a way for our staff to show their gratitude to those parents who have given their time throughout the year to enrich the learning experiences of our students. Your help is greatly appreciated!
As many of you would be aware, yesterday a large branch fell from the Norfolk pine tree on the perimeter of our school onto our under cover area, leaving significant damage and a hole in the roof. Fortunately, this incident occurred about 5 minutes before lunchtime, so the area was empty at the time. The incident was immediately reported to the Department who will now ensure that the tree is assessed by arborists and that appropriate action is taken in regards to safety.
In the meantime, until the roof has been fixed and the area assessed as safe the following will be put in place.
- Students arriving at school before 8:35am will be asked to wait quietly at the library end of the basketball court
- Students will eat recess and lunch at the library end of the basketball court
- At drop off and pick up times, school is accessed via the Hinderwell Street or Deanmore Road entrances, not via the gate near the under cover area.
We are working hard to resolve this situation as quickly as possible!
