What an inspiring school CPS is!
We have had seen so many exciting things happen the last two weeks that our students have been involved in showcasing the superb education CPS offers to every child and the inspiring partnerships with have with others.
Last Wednesday night I was privileged to attend the Rotary Four-Way Junior Speaking Contest with included other district schools. Massive congratulations to Jethro and Matthew who presented such a high quality speech. They displayed confidence beyond their years and their speeches displayed such innovative and critical thinking. I was as proud as their mums and dads!
Our Science/STEAM Week totally engaged the students in numerous amounts of activities provided throughout the week topping it off with an amazing presentation about developing a suitable ecosystem for our frog pond from Dr Bruce Webber, Principal Research Scientist with CSIRO. Dr Webber has been an active partner with CPS supporting student’s growth in Environmental/ecosystems knowledge. We all thank Mrs Reid, Mr J and the team of teachers who did an amazing job with all the fun activities.
To top the week off, we were rewarded with the Athletics Carnival! Super fun for everyone that’s for sure and a brilliant community event. There was such a wonderful display of our four values – respect for our team mates: resilience – just have a go: engage – positively in everything: excel – be proud of what I can achieve. Huge thank you to Mr Marshall for organising and managing this huge event. A very big thank you goes to the P & C/ parent volunteers for the cake stall, this certainly kept everyone sustained for the day!
Don’t forget the Learning Journey Tuesday 7 September. Classes will open at 5 – 6.30. The children are so excited to show you what they have been achieving. The Music, Art rooms will also be open. It is always a great family night and this year the Executive Leadership Team have teamed up with Lions club to put on a sausage sizzle! Come and visit us, Mr J has been practicing his cooking skills in readiness! The sausages will be $2 with the proceeds going to various charities.
Don’t forget to nominate to be part of the School Board! This is a great opportunity to support and grow the school direction and work with an amazing group of parents and teachers. Please see Skoolbag or the last newsletter for detailed information.
Please remember to not bring dogs onto school grounds during school hours. We have an increasing issue with dog faeces on the oval which is really distressing for a child if they stand or sit in it. As a community voice we would greatly appreciate you supporting getting the message out to the community to please take their dogs poos with them (not throw into the gardens).
