St Andrew's Primary Marayong Newsletter

Term 2 Issue 9 - 11th June 2021

From the Principal - Yvette Baird

Dear Parents,

Over the next few weeks will be attempting to run normal school events in this COVID 19 climate.

Firstly, you would have received a letter regarding our upcoming Athletics Carnival on Friday the 18th of June.  This will be held at St Andrew’s College Junior Campus. Parking will be at the back of the campus entering via Benalla Cres.

Parents will need to sign in using the QR code at the gate and please sit in the parent area near the hall.  I ask all parents to please follow the direction of the staff as we still need to abide by our COVID safety plan.  Children will be sitting on the hill.  We ask that parents do not venture into this area unless you have spoken with Mrs Van Der Burg.  I thank you in advance for your cooperation and support.  Our only priority is the continued safety of the students and community.

Secondly, a letter inviting parents to book a time for face to face parent meetings  went home this week. I invite all parents to make a booking to speak with your child’s teacher about their academic progress.  Once again we have a COVID plan in place to protect all involved.

Public Holiday

Just a reminder that Monday the 14th June is a public holiday.  Children return to school on Tuesday the 15th of June.

Farewell

Our dear friend Mrs Schrader is leaving our School family.

It is with sadness that I inform our school community that Mrs Schrader will be leaving St Andrew’s school after many years as an outstanding classroom teacher.   Mrs Schrader will leave at the end of this term.  As a community I wish Mrs Schrader God’s blessing as she writes the next chapter of her story.  We will begin the recruitment process this week.

School Uniforms

Just a reminder that students are to wear the official school or sports uniform.  I ask parents to please provide a note of explanation if your child is in the wrong uniform.  I thank you in advance for following our school uniform policy.

First Holy Communion

I wish to congratulate the many students who received the Eucharist for the first time last week.  Please continue to pray for our students and their families.

Enrolments for 2022

We are now at the end of our Enrolment Process.  Kindergarten enrolments are nearly at capacity.  I urgently request that if your child is school ready and you have not submitted an enrollment form, please do so by the end of next week. Once we reach full capacity, children will be placed on a waiting list.   All forms need to be lodged to the school office before the end of this term for consideration.

This Week's News Update

Tell Them From Me

 Dear Parents,

In the coming weeks we will be inviting students, teachers and parents to provide feedback on their experience of our school using an online survey. The surveys are an important part of our whole school evaluation and planning process.

We would like to invite you to complete the Tell Them From Me (TTFM) Partners in Learning survey. As we value the role of parents and carers within our school community, we would greatly appreciate your feedback. The information you provide will be used to maintain our commitment to working together in partnership to further improve student learning and wellbeing at St. Andrew’s Primary School.

The survey is anonymous and will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. You are able to access the parent survey on your computer or mobile device by using the URL below:

Fundraiser Payment Reminder Grade Disco

As you are aware St. Andrew’s is trialing a cashless payment system.  The first event will be the Grade Disco Fundraiser.   A big thank you to 50% of our families who have already trialed the cashless payment system.   This is a gentle reminder for families who still need to finalise this event.

The following are the steps for your information:

QKR App  (this is the same app you use for your uniform orders)

Please update your student’s information (their grade and class), if this is incorrect the payment will not be allocated to them which will not reflect on the class list for your payment.

Log In -  you will see another tab for Fundraising, when you click on this you will see the Discos that are available to pay for.  You need to choose the correct payment option for each child.

3 Options

K, 1 & 2 - Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2

3 & 4     - Year 3 and Year 4

5 & 6     - Year 5 and Year 6

If you have more than one child, you will need to click on each year group and add them to the cart you can pay for everything together.

As the payment will be an acknowledgement of acceptance for your child to attend the disco, we do not need a signed form.

If you have any questions, please call the school office.

Parents and Friends

Discos are coming up in week 10 and the P+F will be making up goody bags for the students.  If anyone would like to volunteer to help put these together, we will be doing them in the morning on Wednesday 16 June.  If you would like to assist, please feel free to approach any of the P+F members you may see around the school or you can contact us at samps.pf@gmail.com or search for St Andrews Primary Marayong P+F 2021 on Facebook.
