VIRGINIA PRIMARY SCHOOL

Learning Together, Learning for our Future RESPECT CARING FAIRNESS DIVERSITY ACHIEVEMENT

Thursday 8th of April, 2021

Dear Parents/Carers,

On behalf of the staff at VPS, we would like to congratulate all our students on a successful term of learning. Your ongoing support is highly valued and we cannot wait to end the term with celebrating Sports Day with you all tomorrow.

The students are excited and cannot wait to give it their all and are looking forward to our famous sausage sizzle and special fried rice.

In saying this, we want to ensure the safety of everyone and want to continue to be able to invite our parents to our school events, so ask of the following:

* ALL visitors to sign in on arrival by scanning the QR code or sign in using the signing sheets available up at the front office (this is mandatory)

* everyone  to stay 1.5 metres away from others wherever possible

* former students not to attend

* visitors to use staff toilets - no visitors to use the student toilets or enter foyers

* use hand sanitizers from the dispensers provided

As we know, South Australia is doing a remarkable job with following SA Health's COVID guidelines and as a school, we too want to ensure that we continue to follow the department's and SA Health's advice as we want to be able to invite our families to other future school events. We thank you for your patience and understanding.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to wish Mrs Bexis all the very best whilst on maternity leave from term two, and thank her for all her hard work, dedication and valuable contributions here at VPS. This is not a goodbye, but a 'wishing you all the very best with the upcoming arrival of your baby girl. We will definitely miss her and look forward to her return.  As we farewell Rachele, we welcome Brooke (Miss C) who will be in room 8 for the remainder of the year. Miss C is excited to join the VPS team and has already met the class. Miss C will be with room 8 tomorrow on Sports Day which we are grateful for.

Well that is a wrap, for term one. I'd like to wish everyone (staff, students and families) a safe and happy two week holiday break. Looking forward to Term 2.

Kind Regards,

Voula Pounendis
